Eliza Tebo is a musician and writer based in Washington, D.C.

As a vocalist, Eliza regularly performs jazz, folk, rock and pop. With Howard University’s Afro Blue/Traces of Blue, she performed on NBC's "The Sing-Off" and NPR, as well as The Kennedy Center, Blues Alley, the B.B. King Blues Club (NY) and the Vice President’s official residence. Her debut jazz EP was released April 29, 2022, and won Best Jazz Album at the 2023 Wammies. Eliza is also one-half of acoustic duo Jessica Upstairs and a member of rock outfit Wandering Bird. And you can expect to hear her first pop album in 2024.

She’s also a journalist and communications professional. As a reporter for WAMU’s Affordability Desk in 2020, she produced digital and audio stories about the challenges of living in one of the nation’s most expensive cities before and during an economic crisis. She has also written about the D.C.-area music and arts scene for multiple publications and hosts two D.C. music podcasts, Common Chord and Formative Tracks. Her bylines have appeared on WAMU, DCist, ARLnow, Arlington Magazine, DC Refined, Grammy.com, Northern Virginia Magazine, NPR Music and The Washington Post.

Eliza also writes short stories and is soon to begin her first teleplay.
