Eliza Tebo is a D.C.-based journalist, musician, educator and podcast host with a passion for storytelling.
As a culture reporter covering arts, education, work and the local economy, Tebo’s bylines have appeared on NPR, WAMU, The Washington Post, The 51st, Washington City Paper, Arlington Magazine and BmoreArt. Tebo is also an award-winning vocalist and songwriter performing jazz, folk and pop music. In 2026 she released her first pop album (Vol. 1: The Life and Times of Gemma Sky) and an Americana single, “Virginia is for Lovers.” Her debut jazz record took home the 2023 Wammie for Best Jazz Album. She has performed at The Kennedy Center, Smithsonian museums, international venues and on NBC’s “The Sing-Off.”
Tebo thoroughly enjoys interviewing people and is the host of new podcast Making Stuff. The show features conversations with entrepreneurs, artists, and makers about exactly what it takes to build something out of nothing.
